Argus C3 Data Tables

January 31st, 2008 | by Mark |

In this posting, I’ve put some data tables for help when using the fully manual Argus C3.

These 2 charts show the conversion between the Matchmatic settings and standard camera settings. Useful if your light meter no longer functions correctly for the Matchmatic, it allows you to use a normal one for exposure settings.

Exposure Settings

The charts below give the focusing range of a C3 camera when set to the standard focal guide settings on the dial.

Focal Length Settings 1

Focal Length Settings 2

Example: By setting your C3’s focal ring at 10ft, an f/stop setting of f/8 will mean everything between 6′ 9″ and 18′ 9″
should be ‘acceptably sharp’ of in focus.

The final chart gives approximate exposure settings for various conditions in some different shooting situations.
