Sapphire & Steel - Look-in Comic Strips
Friday, February 1st, 2008During the period the programme was on air, original comic strips based on Sapphire & Steel appeared in Look-In magazine. Billed as the “Junior TV Times”, this weekly propaganda leaflet for commercial television really was a product of the 70s. Imagine filling a kid’s comic nowadays with the women-chasing antics of Benny Hill (the guy’s a genius, but for schoolkids?) or the racial stereotyping “laughs” of Mind Your Language.

The programme centred on a pair of interdimensional operatives, the titular Sapphire and Steel. Very little was revealed about their purposes or backgrounds in the course of the series but they appeared to be engaged in guarding the order, if not the integrity of Time. In the series, it was explained that Time is like a corridor that surrounds everything, but there are weak spots where Time - implied to be a potentially malignant force - could break into the present and take things. There were also creatures from the beginnings and ends of time that roamed the corridor looking for the same weak spots to break through.
The Wiccan Triumvirate

Oldfried has convinced a Grand Magus (Oktar) and the Druid council that they must get a representative from each section to form the Wiccan Triumvirate, and prevent the dreadful return of Skye MMeoi (or is that the return of the dreadful.. who knows..). Any how, he’s very persuasive… I mean, would you argue with him.. ??
