“A fracture in time, but not a simple break, something that’s causing massive distortion of time and space within a given area, of which this room, the steps, the square outside are all part.
Background
The programme centred on a pair of interdimensional operatives, the titular Sapphire and Steel. Very little was revealed about their purposes or backgrounds in the course of the series but they appeared to be engaged in guarding the order, if not the integrity of Time. In the series, it was explained that Time is like a corridor that surrounds everything, but there are weak spots where Time - implied to be a potentially malignant force - could break into the present and take things. There were also creatures from the beginnings and ends of time that roamed the corridor looking for the same weak spots to break through.
Follow (if you can) the adventures of the one of the unlikeliest trio you’ll ever read about.
Oldfried has convinced a Grand Magus (Oktar) and the Druid council that they must get a representative from each section to form the Wiccan Triumvirate, and prevent the dreadful return of Skye MMeoi (or is that the return of the dreadful.. who knows..). Any how, he’s very persuasive… I mean, would you argue with him.. ??

The world around Kate was completely stationary, there was no movement. Not even the air around her stirred. All was still.’OK now?’ It was the man, looking at her calmly. Kate’s face was still stinging from his slap. ‘Wha..who..you!’ Kate was addressing her assailant, who not only was able to move, but apparently completely oblivious to what has just happened. ‘Fine. Thank you.’ she replied meekly. |

She was, she liked to think, a quiet sort of a person, liked to wear black to remain inconspicuous, today was no exception, black knitted top, long black skirt, and her long black coat, black knee length boots and black handbag completed the ensemble. This book details how the duo first meets, and their first contact with their nemesis, The Drifter.
Kate is a quiet woman, not wanting to stand out in a crowd. She leads a quiet uneventful life, until that is the Time Detective enters her life, and Kate is dragged on a non-stop ride, never sure if the next revelation is going to be her last breath. It marks the beginnings of their adventures, wandering through the tangent planes.
